Forum Eurodyssée Hunedoara 2007

More than a hundred well dressed people of 28 regions of Europe, punctuallity, power points, Romanian media, ministers and a lot of technology in the middle of the silence and the mountains, during four days in Geoagiu Băi, Hunedoara's region, in Romania. This was the forum Eurodyssée Hunedoara 2007, in the middle of the virgin Transilvania a lot of politicians, public administration and other private institutions try to walk together in the process to build the Europe of the people and not only of the institutions. The representants of the International Relations of the different regions keep in touch with each other to introduce different students of their regions who want to travel and to work in a other country of Europe for 4 or 7 months.

The program Eurodyssee depends on Assembly of European Regions (A.R.E), and give people between 18 years and 30 years the opportunity to have a free language course for a month, free apartment and to have enough money to discover different life- styles, cultures and traditions. Thi is the real way to know Europe, to build this Europe of the people and to fight against the prejudices and the stereotipes of the nations.

From the theory to the reality

Two trainees who actually are leaving in Romania participated at this forum, as well. Florimond Devie, a boy of 22 years, of the region of Bourgogne in France is living in Deva, the capital of Hunedoara's region and works as an electrician: " I think it's very important to travel to other regions to learn a language, I am french and I've never been good at communicating in other foreign language but now I can speak romanian with a Catalan girl for example. It's amazing!" Both of the trainees agree that romanian people like living well because they work without stress and they eat all the time together, the boss and the workers.

On the other hand, Eulàlia Sànchez Carrera, a girl of 24 years, politolog and student of journalism thinks that the majority of the people wants to do this program to improve their French or their English languages instead of wanting to discover unknown regions of Europe: " I chose Romania because I wanted to become objective as a future journalist about the news so negative that I read every day in newspapers about romanian people living in Spain."This catalan girl made a presentation during the forum to promote the region of Harghita, in Transilvania, because she takes part of the staff of the Office of International Relations of the County Council of Harghita.

People that wants to participate in this program don't need to have university studies. The only requirement is to be so open-minded to understand and to share experiences with other european people.
